The summer class registration raffle is now closed. The below details are for the Summer session, and we are keeping this information posted here so you can see how the registration raffle process works. The registration raffle for Fall classes will open in late July.
Welcome to the raffle system for our Adult Class Session. We hope this raffle system will make the class registration process easier and fairer for those people who have slower Wifi, a slower set of payment platforms, or just move a little bit slower.
Before You Begin...
About the Raffle
Our old registration system required new customers to be online at a specific date and time to grab a class on a first-come, first-served basis. Winter classes sold out in 6 minutes.
The new raffle system should allow plenty of time for everyone to review the class descriptions on our Class Details Page before submitting their form.
This means there is no rush in submitting your raffle form. An early entry will not improve your chance of being selected.
This raffle system is still an experiment - if it does not go well, we will return to the previous "Survival of the Fittest, First Come, First Served, Stampede" process for future registrations.

Click the black button below that says Class Raffle Form, a new page will open. Fill out all the requested information and then click on the Submit button.
After submitting the form, you will see a message on your screen that says, "Thank you. Your information has been submitted." If you don't see the Thank You message, scroll up to the top of the page to look for the message.
If you are still concerned that your form did not go through, you can fill it out and submit it a 2nd time - duplicate entries will be deleted.
What’s Next
When the emails go out, a notice will also be posted to Facebook and Instagram.

Payment if you receive a spot: You will receive an invoice via email by June 5th from: Burnish Clay Studio at messenger@messaging.squareup.com for the class registration fee and a bag of clay.

Please Note:
- Before you call or email with questions, please remember there are hundreds of you, but there is just one person managing this process in addition to all of the general studio operations. Please read through the information below and on the Class Details page carefully to see if your question is answered there before you reach out.
- Availability - Current students, members, and Studio Grant recipients will continue to receive advance access to register for the classes. Typically, about 50% of the adult class seats are filled before registration opens to the public. This means some of the classes listed on the form may already be full before we start pulling raffle names.
- Kids Classes - This raffle system does not include the Kids Classes. They do not fill up as quickly so the registration for those will be the same as previous classes - click here to go to the kids class registration.
Instructions

- If you need to make a change to your choices, just submit a 2nd form. Only the most recent form for each person will be retained.
- Please, do NOT call or email to ask if we received your form or to request a manual change to your entry - we do not have the bandwidth to respond to those messages.
- Submit the raffle form ONLY if your intention is to actually take a class in this Session. If you just want to be notified about future classes, join our mailing list instead by clicking here.
What’s Next
- The deadline for completing the raffle form is midnight Friday, May 26th.
- Email notifications will be sent out letting you know if you received a spot or not by 6PM on Tuesday, May 30th from Heather@BurnishClayStudio.com.
- NOTE: We suggest you add Heather@BurnishClayStudio.com to your email address book to avoid it being marked as SPAM/JUNK.
- If you still don’t see an email from Burnish that night, check your Focused and Other Inbox and your Junk Mail folders. You can also search your emails for "Heather@Burnishclaystudio.com"

Technical Details
To provide full transparency, below are detailed steps that will be taken to assign class seats.
To provide full transparency, below are detailed steps that will be taken to assign class seats.
- Duplicate entries will be deleted - only 1 entry per person. Only the most recent form for each person will be retained.
- A random number will be assigned to each entry, most likely using the =RANDARRAY excel formula (EXCEL NERDS UNITE!)
- The form entries will then be sorted smallest to largest by the randomly assigned number.
- Going down the list from top to bottom, class seats will be assigned based on your preferences until the classes are full.
- If your 1st choice class is full, then we will move to the 2nd choice class. If your 2nd choice class is also full, then your 3rd choice will be selected. If your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd preferences are full, then you’ll go into any class that you checked as willing to take, depending on availability.
- If there is no room in any of the classes you specified, then your entry will be skipped, and you will not get to take a class this session.
