8-Week Classes For All Skill Levels, Including Beginners

Sculpture - Sunday Afternoon, 8 weeks

Sundays 7/10-8/28, 12:30-3:00 PM with Sara Young. Over the 8-week class, you will follow along on a short, guided project at the start of each class to learn the foundational skills that you can then apply to your own project ideas. You will learn how to hand build sculptural forms using coils, slabs, and wheel-thrown shapes of clay as building blocks. Discover how to add non-clay materials to ceramic sculpture and mount sculptures to the wall using a variety of attachment methods and devices. All experience levels welcome, including no experience at all. Please bring a sketchbook to use of any size to class.

Hand Building - Monday Afternoons, 8 weeks

Mondays 7/11-8/29, 12:30-3:00 PM, 8 weeks with Hilde Schaaf. You will follow along on guided projects at the start of each class to learn the foundational skills that you can then apply to your own project ideas. You will learn how to use the extruder and slab roller to create a variety of shapes and forms to use as building blocks for your creations. You will also learn a variety of hand building techniques including slab, coil, or pinching to create functional or sculptural pieces. All experience levels welcome, including no experience at all.

Kids Clay

Wheel Throwing for Kids ages 11-15 - Wednesdays and Thursdays, 4-week workshop

Wednesdays and Thursdays 7/11-8/04, 10:00 - 11:30 AM with Sara Young. During this 4-week workshop, kids ages 11-15 will be introduced to basic pottery and wheel throwing. Sara will guide the class through wedging, centering, and forming a pot on the wheel, as well as basic glazing and surface design.

Kids Clay for ages 6-11 - Thursdays, 8 weeks

$165.00

Thursdays 7/14-9/01, 3:00-4:30 PM with Sara Young. During this 8-week class kids ages 6-11 will be introduced to hand-building techniques such as pinch, slab, and coil construction as well as various surface decoration techniques for adding color, pattern, and texture. Your child will have a wonderful time creatively exploring clay while learning new skills and making great friends! All tools and materials included in class fee.

Kids Summer Camp! Ages 8-11 August 22 - 26

Kids Camp is here! From 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM, M-F, Kids will spend the first hour and a half working in 2D, drawing, painting, and collage, then spend the next hour and a half working with clay. The camp will focus on basic skills while providing an open and judgement-free environment where they can explore their imaginations through art! At the end of the week the campers will have several two dimensional and three dimensional objects to bring home. Kids will not be using the pottery wheel during this camp.
