Are you interested in trying a new technique with your clay creations? Bellingham potter, Ann Marie Cooper, will share her 11-plus years of experience making decorative and functional ceramics with hand-rolled clay coils.
Participants will learn how to use coils to create designs and illustrations while forming the piece. You will first make a flat piece to learn the basic steps, and then you will make a bowl.
- Three pounds of Oregon White clay will be provided to each participant.
- If you choose to, you are welcome to bring your own white clay body to use - no red clay. Porcelain is not recommended for this technique.
- Bisque firing of completed pieces is included in the class, but glaze is not.
- Glaze access and glaze firing fees would apply for any non-current student/member.
This is a technical skills workshop for those with clay experience. This is not a "try it out" class for those looking to play with clay for the 1st time.
