Class Details:
The focus is on how to level up. We believe if students can improve their fundamental techniques through focused and intentional practice/repetition, they can unlock more complex projects and develop their style on their own. During this class, the students will have a "skill drill" at the beginning of each of the first 8 classes as well as a class lesson that will include all of the basic shapes/types of functional pottery including: Cup, Mug, Vase, Bowl, Pitcher, Covered Jar, Plate. The instructor will cover the design of a pot and discuss each of the pots parts: foot, belly, shoulder, neck, and lip, as well as how to create a unified and well-designed functional piece. The 9th class will be more of a working session to finish up any remaining pieces in progress and the last class will include the final round of glazing.
