Membership at Burnish
Our membership program is currently full.
We will always fire pieces for those who are making work from home. Drop-off is available without an appointment during our Retail hours, which are Tue-Sat Noon-6pm. These are the hours listed on our Google info page, Facebook, and website footer if you are ever trying to quickly and easily find that information. Information about firing services is available here.
The below information does still explain the current details about what the Membership program entails.
- Rather than working from a waiting list, we are now only promoting people from classes to membership based on who has been taking classes the longest. Access to classes is now done on a raffle system to make the process more fair and accessible. Information about the raffle process is available here.
- If you were previously on the waiting list and are still interested in a membership, your only option is to sign up for the class raffle. We have found it is much more successful to have people who are already integrated into the studio (and who have integrated spending time at the studio into their life) to transition from students to members as space becomes available.
- Even if you are experienced enough that you feel you do not need instruction, taking a class before transitioning to membership ensures you have a better guide through the procedures that are specific to our studio - plus it is always great to see how other people do things. If you are the type of person who thinks they could not possibly learn any new skills or tricks from a general skills class, then quite frankly you probably have the type of ego and sense of entitlement that is not tolerated at Burnish. We prefer to welcome those who have an open heart and an open mind.
